Women & Gender Studies

The Department of Women & Gender Studies was established in April 2000. Professor Nazma Chowdhury is the Founder Chairperson of this department. Initially, the name of this department was 'Department of Women's Studies'. There are 8 full time and 2 part time faculties for 150 students at BSS and MSS level. The Royal Netherlands Embassy has signed an agreement with the department for a period of five years for providing technical and financial assistance to strengthen it.
